For the first time ever, the Lawrence community will have access to public transit on Sundays. Starting this weekend, Lawrence Transit On Demand bus service will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

Lawrence Transit On Demand is a shared ride service that operates within the city limits. You can expect to see the same friendly bus drivers in our smaller buses that are all ADA accessible and equipped with bike racks. Service is door-to-door, meaning you can schedule a ride between any two places in town.

“The community has asked for Sunday bus service for years, and Lawrence Transit On Demand brings that to town for the first time,” said Adam Weigel, Transit & Parking Manager. “This service sets us apart from many peer communities and is another win for accessibility and sustainable transportation choices.”

In addition to Sundays, Lawrence Transit On Demand also operates evenings and overnights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Saturday.

Use the Lawrence Transit On Demand app to book trips or make several reservations at a time. Trips can be scheduled up to five days in advance. If you need to make reservations by phone, call (785) 312-7054 during business hours, Monday – Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
