Your guide to taking transit to KU Football games this season
August 31, 2026Bus service from Downtown Lawrence
Lawrence Transit is still offering fare free bus service to campus on game days, with a slightly different format than previous years. For fans looking to travel from downtown to campus, Routes 3 and 4 will get you the closest.
Both Route 3 and Route 4 pick up at the following downtown stops:
- Stop #1: Vermont at 7th, across from Lawrence Public Library
- Stop #124: on the Northwest corner of 9th and New Hampshire
From there, take Route 4 to Maine & Fambrough — this stop puts you closest to the stadium entrance. If Route 4 is at capacity, Route 3 to 9th & Maine is a reliable backup option, just a short walk away.
Plan ahead and consider having both routes in mind, especially on game days when demand is higher. Use the Transit app to plan your trip and see the next bus in real time.
Changes to this program reflect efforts to reduce costs and focus on core services.
Other transit services
- Riders who are certified to use paratransit can schedule rides as usual to access campus on game day.
- Going home after 8 p.m.? Try Lawrence Transit On Demand to schedule ahead or in the moment. It costs a flat $3 one-way fare. Learn more and download the app for booking trips at lawrencetransit.org/on-demand.
