Van Go bench dedicated to transit

August 12, 2013

A beautiful, colorful bench is what every office needs. Since buses, benches and working with the community are reflective of Lawrence Transit, a custom designed bench was requested from Van Go to adorn the office at 933 New Hampshire.

Jordan Wittbrod was the artist, designer and painter of the bench. He provided his insight and ingenuity to create a unique and interesting addition to the transit office. His creativity and hard work received a “thumbs up” from Lawrence Transit and the professional staff at Van Go.

“The colors, details and design will really add a new dimension to our office,” said Robert Nugent, Lawrence Transit Administrator. “We are proud of Jordan and the work he has done to bring this bench to life.”

Van Go Jams, or Jobs in the Arts Make Sense, is a Van Go “earn while you learn,” youth employment program for teens 14–18 years old. Jordan was chosen as the designer of the Lawrence Transit bench since he likes to ride the bus, uses perfection in his work, and has a mind for maps and details.
