Lawrence Transit releases updated Bus Stop Improvement Program Guidelines and survey analysis

December 7, 2022

In November, Lawrence Transit released a draft of their updated Bus Stop Improvement Program Guidelines and an accompanying survey on Lawrence Listens that received 224 responses. Responses were collected online and via paper surveys aboard buses at the downtown transfer location at 7th and Vermont.

These guidelines provide a framework to help determine which stops to prioritize next for improvements, type of improvements to provide at each stop, and an estimated timeline to reach accessibility and comfort goals. Transit staff are appreciative of the quality of feedback provided and the willingness of the Lawrence community to engage with important issues that will help improve access, comfort, and convenience for all transit riders.

To see how public input received has informed the Bus Stop Improvement Program, read the final plan here.
