Bus service cancelled on Thursday and postponed on Friday
Lawrence Transit will cancel bus service on Thursday, Dec. 22, and plans to postpone service on Friday, Dec. 23, with a tentative start time of noon. This decision is being made due to significantly cold wind chills, and with the safety of drivers and passengers in mind.
Wednesday, December 21
Fixed-route and paratransit service will run until 8 p.m. as usual. Night Line will stop its service at midnight, instead of running until 6 a.m on Thursday, Dec. 22.
Thursday, December 22
Fixed-route, paratransit, and Night Line service will be cancelled, with the exception of life sustaining T Lift trips such as dialysis. First Transit will be reaching out to T Lift and Night Line riders with scheduled trips to communicate about these plans.
Friday, December 23
There is a tentative plan to restart all services at noon. Lawrence Transit will send out communications shortly after 10 a.m. on Friday to confirm. Fixed-route and T Lift service plan to start at noon, and Night Line will start at its regular time of 8 p.m.
