I walked [to work], 11 miles for 4 months straight… because we have a Berry west plant that’s out there in Lecompton, Kansas. And I will go from Lawrence all the way there. Three hours and thirty-six minutes. My grandpa said if you’re determined for that money, kid, go for it.
Every day, I did this. Not just for me but for my six stepkids… there’s Benito, he’s 28. Lydia is 26. Santana is 21. Bella, she will be 21. And then there’s Alexa who is 16. And my little boy, my butterball. I love him to death because he’s just like me. His name is Ritchie. We named him from like the movie Ritchie Valens.
We go swimming, fishing. I take them to the park, we play a little bit of basketball. Or we’ll go to Kansas City, have dinner, go dancing for a little bit. My little boy actually loves going to the arcade center down there. I teach him all about the old-time games.
