Annual Route Changes
Lawrence Transit hosts an annual route change process. Every year, staff looks at routes, ridership data, and schedules and proposes route changes to the bus riding public. In person and virtual survey opportunities are provided to get robust feedback. This page collects all the information you need to engage in this process.

New Route Features
Route 1: Connecting from Downtown to Haskell campus and adding service on both Haskell and Harper from 19th to 23rd.
Route 3: Serving 9th street. Keeping access to LMH and Heartland.
Route 4: Merging existing Route 4 and Route 10. No longer taking Jayhawk Blvd and instead taking West Campus Rd. Continuing to the 6th St. Walmart, Dillons, and Free State High.
Route 5: Serving Haskell campus from 23rd St. Small timing changes.
Route 6: Returned to staying on 6th street. Will not serve the Merc or Centennial Park.
Route 7: Providing service in both directions along the South Iowa loop, instead of a one-way loop.
Route 8: Serving the center of Haskell campus to provide better access for riders. Returning service to 27th St. for closer access to Prairie Park Elementary School. This route is no longer interlined with Route 10 to improve the schedule.
Route 9: Ending at World Market and no longer making the South Iowa loop. Route will still be interlined with the 7.
Route 11/12: Adopting a ‘B’ schedule. B Schedule will operate on Saturdays, certain holidays, and when KU classes are not in session.
Route 42: Proposed to simplify the route by removing the loops through Lot 90 or at Engineering / Burge Union. Passengers would board along Naismith Drive. Alternate 2 extends the route along Jayhawk Boulevard to the Kansas Union and GSP/Corbin
