It takes a lot of hard work to keep a transit system running smoothly, day after day. Members of the team all contribute in their unique role, from office staff, reservationists, and dispatchers to bus drivers, supervisors, utility workers, and management. How long have you been working with Lawrence Transit / KU on Wheels? I have been a SafeRide driver for 4 years and just started Night Line 3 months ago.
What do you like most about your job? My Passengers!! I love getting to know them as individuals and making sure they have the best riding experience.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work? My animals. I’m a farm girl, so I spend a lot of my time in the country enjoying my livestock.
What else would you like to tell us about yourself? I have a 15-year-old son that is my world and an Irish wolfhound that I treat like a child. ????
What is the best part about being employee of the month? Being recognized for all the hard work and compassion I put into my job.
